Brits spend big on day of love
(14 February 2006)
Brits spent a phenomenal amount of money on Valentine's Day this year, according to statistics from the British Retail Consortium.
The figures suggest that the onset of February 14th prompted a total outlay of £2.3 billion by lovestruck couples or unabashedly hopeful singletons with £253 million spent on flowers and £92 million shelled out on chocolates.
Men are the biggest spenders splashing out £93.75 each in order to impress whereas women limit themselves to a not-exactly-thrifty £88.70.
Around £23 million will have been spent on cards, with 25.2 million of us in total having dipped into the pockets to mark such an amorous occasion.
Perhaps your Valentine's Day was not one to celebrate, or maybe you got lucky and found yourself in a position in which various further romantic investments will be necessary. Either way, some short-term cash could come in useful to provide you with a deserved perk or help you to max out on your Valentine's successes.
A payday loan of between £80 and £1,000 can help you provide that little treat for yourself of for someone else and will be in your bank account ready to spend within 24 hours of your requesting it.
