Cleaners rack up cost of living
(01 February 2006)
The cost of running a home keeps on mounting thanks in no small part to the fact that Brits seem happy to pay out for somebody else to do their domestic and garden chores for them.
An average of £8,904 is spend each year on running the typical household, and research from Direct Line has showed that this figure comes about in part to 16.8 million Britons' preference to spend hundreds on home and garden help.
It seems that £4.5 billion per year is spent by UK residents on home help, such as cleaners and gardeners with 81 per cent doing so primarily as a time-saving measure.
Cleaners, costing on average £780 million each year, are employed by two and a half million of us while gardeners typically cost £468 and are used by two million.
Londoners are said to be the most likely to call upon third party help in their homes, with 13 per cent using a cleaner. At the other end of the scale, only two per cent of Lancastrians do so, seemingly preferring to tidy up themselves.
If the cost of living is taking its toll and you are unable to cut back on various domestic services then a payday loan can tide you over until your next payday and allow you crucial time to get back on track.
Paying back no more than £25 for every £100 borrowed, the structure behind the system is clear and harbours no catches. It's an ideal means of ensuring that you can stay up to date with your monthly commitments while affording yourself time to consider your overall financial position.
